The Extreme Makeover Home Edition team provides the right medicine for a young man whose house was making him sick. It wasn’t easy for Carrie Powell to bring relief to her younger son, Keenan, who suffers from a rare cell disorder, asthma, as well as allergies. It was all made worse by the dust and living mold in their Arleta, California home. Doctors told Carrie that Keenan wouldn’t live to see his first birthday. Determined to not give up hope, Carrie, a florist by trade, turned to her herb garden to help Keenan deal with his diseases. Keenan beat the odds and is now a strapping 16-year old who wears a size 15 shoe and stands at 6 feet tall. Keenan has been able to keep his health in check, but keeping the house hypo-allergenic for him has been a problem. So, the team of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” in an episode airing on SUNDAY, MAY 16 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET), made a house call. Their mission was to prescribe the right antidote for Keenan by eradicating the black mold and providing a healthy, new environment for the entire family. While the divorced Carrie learned to grow her own medicinal herbs for Keenan, she lost job after job because she had to take time off every time Keenan was admitted to the hospital. In addition to caring for Keenan and her older son, Chris, now 25, she couldn’t keep up with the expenses of constantly fixing things in the house that made Keenan sick. Before Chris leaves for military duty in the Middle East, he wanted to make sure his mom and little brother would be well taken care of and the house be no longer toxic to Keenan. Carrie, Keenan and Chris went on a vacation to New York. The design team for this episode of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” features team leader Ty Pennington, Dawson Connor, Alle Ghadban, Paige Hemmis and Michael Moloney.

He did a walk-thru, and said yes it was a horrible site. Black mold, Mushrooms growing in the walls, and water damage thru-out my EXPENSIVE APT. Now, I lost over $6000.00 of brand new furniture, and had to move. When I asked him for a written report for this, he said..”The apartment complex hired their own inspector and found NO problem.”
I have pictures and samples that show absolute proof! The City wants me to *** me. I know & so does my DR., and 7 other adults who helped me pick through what ever I could bring with me.
What is my next step?
How can I go over the Citys head for compensation?
“They”, don’t want any BAD publicity, and I feel wronged/ and am horrified that this is happening’
Somebody help me, PLEASE!
The Apartment Complex was NEGLIGENT =They did not do repairs to prevent mold/moisture damage reqested by me since 04/07. The guilty party is the City & the Apt. Complex. I am the one who deserves compensation. They don’t want bad publicity/ or pay for the negligence they are guilty of. Shame on them!

I’m the one who deserves compensation.
I lost valubles do to the lazy, stupidity, pathetic, management, and the sob liar’s of the Municipality I lived in.

This is a civil case.
Whom, or who is the next person in Authority? I’m looking for action & well I guess I’ll just go to the States Attorney, and call a TV Station. This is Borderline criminal.

Mold Found At School District Headquarters

Mold has been found in an old Independence School District building where the superintendent and about 20 other employees fell ill.

Superintendent Jim Hinson said Wednesday the mold was uncovered by environmental workers inspecting the district’s central office.

At a news conference Thursday afternoon, district officials said four types of mold were found, including black mold. The mold was found in the top two floors of the office building, officials said.

Last month about one-third of the employees began having respiratory problems, tingling or numbness in their arms and legs, muscle aches and fatigue.

In mid-March, the district moved the headquarters into a former car dealership. Hinson said some employees have told him they feel better since leaving the building. It’s not clear how long workers will stay at the car dealership.

Neither staff members nor patrons at a senior center in the same building have reported similar health problems. A spokeswoman said the two facilities have separate ventilation systems.
