You will mix the cleaner following the manufacturers’ instructions. Some will have a product to water ratio on the label for certain jobs. Use the strongest mix allowed. Put the diluted solution in a spray bottle. You will want to wear rubber gloves and a face mask while you are cleaning the mold. This will insure your safety. Spray the affected areas well with the cleaner and wash the areas down. Then you will want to take a bucket of clean water and rinse the area well to remove the entire moldy area.

Mix bleach 1 part with 3 parts water in a sprayer….spray afflicted area, as long as the area is not of 50 sq. ft. Anything over demands professional removal.

Bleach will kill, but can give off toxic fumes so be careful.

Their is also commerical products that are suppose to be better. Check with your local hardware store.

You can kill it with bleach. To keep it from coming back, you need to get rid of the source of moisture. For more info check out the air quality page at my source.

Tilex mold and mildew KILLER. It’s hard to find around here, so look for it the next time you’re shopping out of town. We had a HUGE problem with it in the bathrooms of our last few rentals. I used bleach in our apartment, but it grew back fast, in our first house, the ventilation was a window, which I think actually HELPED it grow, but we had to keep it open. I used the tilex mildew killer and I only had to use it once a month. You can never get rid of it without burning down and rebuilding that area of your house, but you can keep it under control. :)
