Can toxic black mold grow inside of plumbing especially the water supply pipes?

I have noticed that the pipe that attaches to my shower head is black inside. This made me curious to whether or not black mold can grow inside of plumbing especially the clean water supply pipes.

    mold would need oxygen to develope so if the lines are used metal lines can corrode is all
