Is plumber’s grade silicone toxic after curing?

Abdallah A asked:

I wanted to use silicone to create molds that hold food. I know that I should be using food grade silicone, but it doesn’t exist where I live.

Plumber’s grade, on the other hand, is readily available. After it cures, is it toxic? I’d be thankful for actual replies :)

Black Mold

if a fuel tank is recycled. and the plastic melted but not burned will there be toxic fumes?

this plastic would be used for rotational moulding, smoke would not be caused. diesel tanks would be used and some diesel is absorbed into the plastic
the recycled plastic wouldnt reach temps that would burn it, just melt until it can be reformed into a new mould

Chemically, why does mold grow in water exposed to the air after a few days?

I’m doing a lab report for my chemistry class, and I’d like to understand why mold grew in my water which was exposed to the air after a few days. For what it’s worth, there may have been some small suspensions or colloids in the water, but nothing too large, since the water had been filtered by adsorption.

10 points for a succinct and scientific answer!

What type of mold do soft drinks produce?

McDonalds Love asked:

Today my Leadership class and I were cleaning out a storage closet and moving it to another one. Anyway, my friend and I discovered this bin of probably 30 soft drinks and at the bottom there was this swamp of brown soda and in it were these dark/black and yellowish white molds floating around. I could have sworn that I saw one move, but I could have imagined it. Also there were about 10 soft drinks that had randomly leaked out, not just one. I’m wondering why did 10 leak and not just one, and what mold was that?
