Visit us at www.IndoorRestore.com or by calling us toll-free at 1-877-264-6133 or email to info@indoorrestore.com. Poor Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) from mold contamination can lead to health problems for those susceptible or from overexposure. Toxic molds (some are called “black mold”) can grow wherever a suitable environment exists for growth. It is important to know if mold is present in your home or office, whether or not there is visible mold or a musty odor/smell. At IndoorRestore Environmental Services, we can provide a complete inspection of your property or areas of concern to help pinpoint mold problems. If you chose so, we can also remove any mold problems and restore your property to a like-new state. Water damage, mold contamination, asbestos, lead, and other issues are all handled by our organization.

Black molds are also known as “toxic molds.” They are so named because unlike any other kind of other mold, black mold can cause health risks. Black mold thrives in moist areas preferred and especially in organic and inorganic materials that are cellulose or fiber consistency as paper, cardboard, bread, lint, ceiling, wood paneling, rugs and more. Black mold can contaminate and start growing in your home in cases where there is water damage from flooding and constant moisture in a particular area of your house caused by leaking water pipe. Start black mold removal as soon as possible to prevent its spread and contamination of other areas of your home. Visit moldandmildewremoval.us for more information.

Stachybotrys is the ” toxic black mold”

Stachybotrys is a species of mold more commonly referred to as toxic black mold. Exposure to such molds may lead to serious health problems. First let’s point out that while it’s called “toxic black mold”, it’s not an entirely accurate description. Yes, Stachybotrys produces toxins, but the molds themselves are not toxic or poisonous. This particular mold happens to grow on materials that have a high cellulose and low nitrogen content. In your home you would find those kind of materials on such things as fiberboard, gypsum board, paper, dust and lint. Typically what happens is that mold growth occurs where there is moisture from water damage, leaks, condensation, excessive humidity, or flooding. If you suspect stachybotrys mold in your home, it will have the appearance of a greenish-black fungus, and it will be slimy to the touch. It is very important to check your home for any area where water damage or condensation may occur on the materials I mentioned previously. This type of mold will not grow on plastic, vinyl, or ceramic tiles, so if you’re having problems on those surfaces, you can be confident that it is not stachybotrys. Remember that these mold spores can and will cause serious health problems.
