Black Mold

Black mold was growing on the ceiling around the unit and up the door. The stench was coming into the house. I was always bleaching everything and soaking the water up with towels.

The owner saw it when she stopped by in September! At this point I had been telling the owner’s daughter about it for at least 2 months.

A/c guy come out, one says “just gotta clean the coils”. The next guy actually goes into the attic and sees a huge hole in the duct work which is pouring cold air into a hot garage attic! The condensation is what is causing the water pouring down through the ceiling and

MOLD!!!!
He patches the duct work and used my bleach to pour into a spout with a plug, not sure what that is but it is still full of yucky moldy stuff!!!!! HE covered the mold stained ceiling with plaster maybe he used KILZ, I’m not even sure exactly.

These months we have all been sick, nothing makes it better. Now we’re all on all kinds of antibiotics and steroids! Had my son in the E.R. last night wheezing and mentioned the mold to the Dr. He says the sypmtoms we are all experiencing can be to caused by the mold. You can’t just wipe it clean or cover it up. You have to remove the affected area.
I have since taken both boys to their primary and they are on round the clock nebulizer treatments.

WHat ahould I do? I am considering a number of options. I’ve already spoken to the Director of Environmental Health for my local area and suggests we relocate asap!
Meanwhile… how do I care for my family and treat the house? How do I handle things with the landlord and legal considerations? Ongoing or permanent damage?
