Black Mold

My friend has Black mold in her apartment. They discovered it about 2 months ago. She and her roomate are getting sick. They are both students, no health insurance, very low paying jobs.

What can they do?
What is the process of dealing with this black mold?
Lawsuit?
What should they be doing?

Please help.

I am the only one with insurance so I asked my Dr. to check for it, she was very rude with her response saying I was imagining it,and it was doubtful I was sick from that!!
