Black Mold

We are buying a house and the home inspection showed a lot of mold (not the toxic kind, but still mold) in the attic. Has anyone had this kind of mold cleaned up? What kind of expense are we looking at? I need to decide within 24 hours if I’m backing out of the sale, yikes!! Thanks!!!
We know the cause ( a leaky roof that was fixed last year, and improper ventilation and insulation, which will be fixed). We also know it’s not toxic, but I am concerned about allergies – not for those of us who will be living there, as none of us are allergic to mold – but my other kids are sensitive to it.

I don’t want to do the work myself; I want to hire it done but am just wondering what a ballpark figure might be for this kind of work.

We have vertical blinds & I keep them closed most of the time. If my husband hadn’t looked out the window we would still not know about it.
I am very concerned. Both my husband & my self have been experiencing flu like symptoms. I myself have headaches for weeks now & all along we just believed we were still suffering from the flu. It has been over a month now & I’m starting to believe we are showing signs of allergies to the mold, & praying it’s not toxic. I don’t believe we are have these type of symptoms. To my knowledge anyway.
My question is what steps should we take with the builder to ensure our rights, if any are protected? I belive the builder should be responsible but do not believe they will be very supportive. Also, would this fall under the warranty? WHAT DO WE DO? YOUR HELP IS APPRECIATED.

We have only stayed here about 2 years now, we have had problem with black stuff I think its mold – it seems very hard to clean and its even stained the wallpaper alittle, we decorated our daughters room last november & recently discovered black mold stuff underneith her window, tryed to clean it and its stained the wallpaper! Its also in the kitchen next to the back door & also round the top where the walls meet the ceiling, its REALLY horibble to look at How do I get rid of this please? Is it something I should do myself, clean it, re-paint/decorate… or maybe even buy a dehumidifier to stop the dampness???? or is it a big job that Id need the council to come out and sort? thx

i live in military housing, me and my neighbor (whose houses are connected) both have black mold and water damage we contacted housing and they are saying all they are gonna do is put a dehumidifier to dry up our water damage and spray something on the mold…..my question is is that enough to make our house safe from mold?? because everywhere i have looked it says the walls need to be torn out and cleaned on the inside and not just the surface
i have a respitory infection and my 8 month old son is also coughing and congested my neighbor has 3 kids 2 of which also have respitory infections the mold only started growing we think about 1 1/2 months ago from something leaking in our houses
