I keep cleaning up the mold with bleach and scrubbing it with a brush to get rid of it, but it comes back. I am wondering if I need to put a little more sealer or grout around the bathtub.

Mold in my town home, what should we do?

My husband and I moved into a town home last Sept. and got our place inspected by an inspector last July. How we discovered this was we had a leak in our kitchen and right above it is the shower so we knew it coming from the show from the bathroom. We had a plummer come out to look at the problem and he cut the cieling in the kitchen and their was mold pretty much all over. We called our insector and he said to call our home insurance company and he had nothing to do with it. The plummer said the home insurance does not cover the mold because it was there before we purchase the town home. Who should we go after the home inspector? The people who sold us the town home? Any suggestions would help.
Should we get an attorney? If so what time of an attorney should we look for?

I’ve stored some vintage wooden items in my garage and with the rain here in the Pacific NW, they now have some powder mold on them.
What’s the best way to safely remove this from vintage wood without damaging the finish? Is there hope?
Please don’t thumbs down my contacts. They are only trying to help!

What is the very best deck sealer (epai) that repels mold growth?

Nothing with an oil base (eg. Brazilian Redwood oil) will work. They just attract mold. We live in the woods.
I won’t give Thumbs down, unless you insult me, so please be considerate of other people and their answers.

Can I kill mold without ripping out the wall?

Lindsey asked:

I had an ice dam on my house, over the past couple of days water has been slowly trickling into my laundry room which has old plaster walls covered in wall paper and paint. The wall and the edge of the ceiling is wet and a little soft in places, and I think mold might be starting to grow, in some places the water running down the walls is orange (I don’t know why, possibly dye from the wallpaper, or something in the wood framing, the house is very old). I wanted to remodel this room eventually but I don’t have the time or money to do it right now. Is there any way to kill or prevent mold growth on and in the walls without ripping them out?

I was thinking of using a spray on the walls … but I have a feeling this is only superficial and that there could still be growth behind the plaster.

I’d just like to get some opinions.
