Poem about a toxic individual-Your opinions appreciated-thoughts?
Prey
Your whine- It chills
It spills-staining excess
Over gilded cups
Tarnishing the etchings
Forming your own patterns
As your monologue
Falls from your lips
Your poison
It flows-it slinks
Into the community well
It swallows the electric
Tangled in your rue
We play our shadow puppets
In your one woman show
Twisted origami
Animals created
To turn on each other
Serrated teeth dig the meat
Cleanly off our bones
Yet you still
Pick our brains
Hang your dirty laundry
On your tainted lines
The mildew smell
Overwhelms us
Aftershocks tremble
Shaking the foundation
Uprooting the cement
The bitterness is grinding
Digging into our marrow
Breaking down to powder
She mixes in her saline
Creates a new agenda
Mold the human clay
In her own reflection
We travel in circles
Shooting fish in a barrel
Gasping for air
In stagnant waters
Hook us in our mouths
As we lend our ears
Where do your sleeping
Dogs lie?
Chained in your disdain
Locked up
In your tower
Throw your iced hair over
Rescue the victim again
Good little Soldiers
Fall into formation
Given marching orders
Sheep to her slaughter
A waving hand
A glossy glaze
The gate clanks shut
See through smoke and mirrors
Hypochondriac dreams
King takes the queen
Run in zig zag patterns
Throw her off the scent
She made you her prey
In her pity parade
This is not the destination
Just a one way street
The dead end lies ahead
Stand up against the black
As she rains down her spite
Levee the growing water
Let her drown on her own
A higher ground waits
The electricity in the air
Let her burn out
Wasting all her energy
Twisted lines
Will burn out her charge
Leave her to dissolve
Into her own misery
