Does FHA require suspect Mold to be remediated?

I’m in contract on a property I hope to close on Feb. 25. The home inspection revealed that the AC closet had some mold on the floor boards. The report was clear that the rest of the house was non-condusive to mold. We had it swab-tested, and the lab results came back as the non-toxic type (although the lab is not willing to write “non-toxic” on their report). The inspection reports were forwarded to the bank the same day. 3 weeks later, when I received my commitment letter, it had the condition of having an “acceptable results of a mold inspection” without any further clarification. When we pushed them for an answer, they said they wanted all mold out, or a quote from a remediation company along with required funds in escrow – except that by the time they told me this, I was contractually out of time to perform any inspections or inform the sellers that we needed it fixed (so, we’re out of luck, and this will have to come strictly out of my pocket). The underwriter says that he needs the mold cleared for FHA requirements, but, I’ve searched EVERYWHERE and did not find any documents that say that FHA requires mold to be remediated.

How long does FL law allow for a title company to return an escrowed good faith deposit?

I cancelled a contract on a home because the home had toxic mold; I am rightfully entitled to a refund of my deposit, however its been two months and the title company has not returned my deposit nor are they returning my calls and are giving me a different story every time I call. I need to know what the law or the statutes are which govern this so that I can intelligently write a demand AND file a complaint. I’d imagine the title company doesn’t get all the time in the world to refund it and there has to be a statute somewhere which says so, I just can’t seem to find it.

The sellers also agreed to cancel the contract and signed the cancellation.

How do we get our landlord to fix things at our house?

Dangerous tree limb in front, mold underneath the sink, doors will not close.

They came by w/ their contractor and said “yes, we’ll fix these problems. And a month later still nothing. Now they won’t even answer our phone calls.

We just moved in a month ago, and I don’t want to move again. Plus, we our suing the last landlord in a multi-million dollar lawsuit, due to negligence in removing the toxic black mold. So, I don’t want to file a new lawsuit. But if I have to, I will.

Now, are there any LAWS that state they NEED to fix these problems? If so, what are the laws? And anything else I need, if I was taking this to court.
To RM: I don’t know about you, but I live in America. And I can sue anybody for anything. And wasting our court system would be not exercising that right to use it.

Can your landlord actually tell you to clean up black mold on your own? well we are not 100% positive it is black mold but it look like the images of black mold we have brought up on the net. I told him about it and he told me to clean it up myself, said testing was to expensive… what can I do? I don’t want to clean it up myself. I have kids 3 in my house under the age of two who are often sick. I can’t wait any longer to get it out of my house. Advice Please!!!!! Thankyou!!
yes, I believe my kids being sick is the mold. I dont want to move, I want it gone. What can I do and who could I call for help. Is it really safe to clean it up yourself?

him in person showed him exactly what I was talking about and he bold face lied to me and said it wasnt mold its just moisture in the wall that he painted over it to seal the moisture in the wall and to let it go for a few months it will dry out. Also there was a leak in the roof that he told me to my face he fixed come to find out HE NEVER FIXED it and after I signed the papers he disappeared until just recently I got him on the phone and he flat out told me to get over it i didnt buy a warranty with the house and he doesnt have to fix a damn thing. And when I said I will take legal action he preceeded to say with what I took all your money remember then hung up on me. Do I have grounds to sue and file charges including child endangerment considering if he didnt care enough to tell us about the mold means he didnt find out if it was toxic or not and I have two small children and the fact that in the disclosure statement NOTHING was written to inform me of any problems of a leaking roof, nold, collapsed sewer line or anything like that. I didnt know anythig about any of these things til after I gave him the money and he gave me the keys. The day we looked at this house was the day he painted over the mold upstairs so it was brand new WHITE paint completely covering everything and we couldnt see it at all til almost 2 months later. And again I confronted him face to face with my finger pointing DIRECTLY at the mold I watched his eyes look directly at the mold and he LIED.
