You can also use a toothbrush and peroxide. It is a cleaning bleach and sanitary.

Try toothpaste and brush and always leave your washer lid open when not in use.

This is a huge problem with Maytag’s washer. I tried everything, even had the seal replaced, and it came right back. Maytag denies there’s a problem. My clothes started coming out smelling bad. I gave up, just gave the washer away and bought a new one. I will never buy a Maytag product because of this. I took a huge loss on mine, and they didn’t care less! Kenmore Elite is so much nicer, front loader, and have not had a mildew spot anywhere for 3 years now!!!
