Has your pet ever gone missing?

Mariana Makes Art asked:

Mine did, it was horrible.

We we’re getting construction done because of toxic mold, and there was a little hole in the wall in the kitchen to give us access to a pipe… my cat used to crawl down there and go under the floorboards mouse hunting… she was totally safe so no worries.

Anyway, during construction the contractors sealed off all the holes in the walls or any cracks and crevices (to keep the spores from spreading. Then, my cat went missing. For two days. My brother (who was taking care of her) said that she ran away. I thought, no, BULLCRAP. Shes horrified of outside.

So I go home, pull the plastic off the hole in the wall, and theres her little face. I started crying my eyes out.

She was so scared she didn’t come out for two more days, but she’s safe now.

Anyway…this is for Mari C. I hope you find your kitty! *hugs*

aww that’s so sad! Well at least you find your cat!

2 of my dogs went missing but we didn’t even notice
in my old house the boy who lived across the street (who we’re really good friends with) came to our door and told us that when he was doing his paper route he saw our dogs at some elementary school, so we got mad at him for not getting them! and then we ran to park and found them sniffing a tree.

yeah it is a horrible experience!

my dog went missing once, because someone left the front door open on accident. we searched for hours, driving around and asking people if they saw him. we had no luck, so we go home and acouple minutes later i see him running back to the house. OMG i was so relieved, and hugged him like crazy. he had all these branches and stuff stuck in his hair, and he looked like he had quite an adventure. -_- but luckily he came back and was safe. :) whew.

im glad your cat is okay.

Aww, I’m glad your cat is okay.

I have a hamster in my apartment since I can’t have a dog. I put him in his little play area today which is basically a storage bin with toys and tubes and things, but it doesn’t have a lid. I went to the kitchen for a few minutes and when I came back he was gone. He’s so tiny and my room is kinda messy so for a split second I freaked out. I didn’t think I’d ever see him again. But after what felt like an eternity, he poked his little head out from a pair of my jeans.

    He’s fine, thankfully.

My chameleon vanished – no pun intended. It had crawled into a typewriter that got put away in its case for two weeks. When the typewriter was taken out for use – surprise – there he was. Although the typewriter had a couple shed skins in it the chameleon seemed no worse for wear except very hungry.

Once my cat went missing for 2 weeks. I had no idea were he was. I couldn’t accept the fact that he was dead. So, I just waited for him to come home. My mom suggested that she would get me another cat if he didn’t come back. But I didn’t want to. No cat could ever replace him. Anyways, one morning I went outside to go check the mail. As I was walking to the mailbox, I heard this the leave’s in the tree above me rustling. There was my cat trying to get out of the tree and he fell right into my arms. I hugged him and cried. I went inside and everyone was shocked that he finally came home. I was so happy. Now, I’m paranoid about him. So, he’s an inside cat. :)

Btw, nice story. :) I’m glad your kitty’s okay.

Aww, thats a sad story. Poor lil kitty cat.

yes, like two days after I got my kitten, I let my friend stay the night at my house because she was drunk, and when I got home that evening my cat was gone! It was all yucky and rainy outside. My kitty had crawled under the porch. I found him a few hours later.

we have like a huge wooden picket fence around our yard and like a few peices came off and we didnt notice. but one night before we were going to bed, i noticed that i couldnt find her. We looked outside in the backyard but she wasnt there so we knew she escaped somehow. We called the police and said that they got a call from another family not far away saying they found a dog swimming in their pool. my mom and i drove over there and she was tied in their backyard and all we cuz she swam in the pool. (shes a newfoundland. thats what they do.) but the next morning we found the picket fence was missing some peices. Thank god someone got her for us or she wouldve fought with the coyotes (we live near a coyote habitat)

Now, before I begin – unless you are a vegetarian do not complain at what I say.

I have never lost a pet but my neighbours often lose cats as I just can’t resist sweet and sour cat or barbecued kitten on a skewer marinated in honey, lime, coriander and garlic.

Obviously there are people in the world who are daft enough to believe what I have just written and just had to prove their stupidity by giving me a thumbs down. Although I wonder why it is alright to eat lamb and chicken but not cat?

Anyway, no – I’ve been lucky to never lose a pet. Animals seem to like me, especially cats. Cats do like to get in adventures though, don’t they?

Yes :( my dog, Scooby was chasing after a bunny during a big snow storm, and fell into a window well! We were looking for him day and night, and then the next day the owners of the window well (house) saw him there… and then we came and got him :) One of my cats ran away (a day before my birthday) and we know that someone took him, because they tried to take him before :( But we haven’t seen him since then… then this dog we had for one day! (i know… sad) ran off when my mom took her on a walk (on a leash!) and she slipped right outta her leash and ran off… we haven’t seen her since… that’s about it for my pets! lol hopefully none will run off soon :)

    Awhh that is so sad!

Well a couple of summers ago i moved to a new house and my cat was an outdoor cat at my old house so we let my cat outside here, at my old house, and he never came back so we put up lost cat signs. Almost at the end of summer me and my big sister were on a bike ride. Then she started screaming Skittles! (My cats name). I thought she found him, but it was really a found cat poster. We called the number and got him. From now on he always tries to get outside but we are scared to let him outside. I feel really bad for him though. :[

Awhh I know you will find your kitty Mari C. ! =]
