Candace McGee asked:

The outside dog water bowl gets moldy in the summer time. I need to know how to prevent that mold growth. Is there anything I can add to the water and have it still be safe for the dogs?

Wash it and replace the water at least 3x a day. Be sure to use soap and water.

Change the water once a day and wipe the bowl out with a paper towel. Problem solved.

Put clean water in the bowl twice a day. It will not have time to get mold in it.

changing the water daily is the only way to prevent this. stagnant water is also a breeding site for mosquitoes which can lead to heart worm for your dog.
