Our ceiling is leaking in our dorm room. It is about 85 degrees in our room because they won’t turn the heat down. How long will it take for mold to start growing in the wet ceiling and in the wall?

you will know when you start having respiratory problems. really it can start within a week.you could have mold above already and the moisture is just now coming through the drywall or plaster.

It will start as soon as mold spores stick to the surface, which in most cases is immediately (mold spores are all around us in varying amounts). At 85 degrees, they should grow quickly.
