Kayla D asked:

I live in wisconsin, I’m looking for some laws on black mold but cant find any.
I called my landlord and told him about the mold but he didn’t seem real worried about it and said it would take anywhere from one day to a week to get here and look at it. Is that legal?
From all the info I have looked up on Black Mold it is a pretty dangerous thing that should be taken care of ASAP. Can anyone help it would be much appreciated. Thanks

Not all mold is dangerous. Contact your local Health Department and have them inspect the mold

mold.yeast, fungii are a class of cooty that have 92% the dna of human beings,,,,might be 50 types, incl trychophyton rubrum.t mentagrophytes,t flocossum, and many others.
can be factors in bronchial disease, nail, skin, hair fungus.athletes foot, kids or babies in the house with a butt rash, (dandruff),skin psoriasis,gi upsets, fibromyalgia.City building codes, medical help, are often behind the times, backwards,
often indifferent. Some drs believe this “mold’ factor, along with chemicals, pesticides, food addiditives
are factors in dozens of diseases, incl learning disabilities, pms, nausea, alcohol, drug problems.
If you have a crawl space under the building where you are a couple feet from the ground, the mold
may leach and get blown around by mild air currents.A water leak, plumbing leaks in the bathroom,
a leak from another apt could be the reason for the problem. These need to be looked at,and repaired.
a way to treat the problem yourself,if the leaks are fixed,is to buy a 40 buck home depot vac,,a lysol can of disinfecting spray,(look at contents for chem effective against trychophyton mentagrophytes,
,which works against athletes foot and a lot of mold types),,a 6oz glass bottle, half filled w warm water,a windex spray stem,,,,spray lysol into water bottle, like 6 doses of spray,,,use vac BLOW attachment (remove filter for max power) with nozzle concentrator to blow accross the stem in bottle, seal the top with thumb, vac should make a fine mist,,,,,,go all through the house,,,,have kids, pets, stay outside for a couple hours…clean out fridge, spray inside it,spray bathroom and wherever the mold is worse. Also try to find a uv sunlamp from a thrift shop.Take pics of before & after
keep receipts of materials used, notify slamlord that you intend to try your own method of mold remediation.Go through the whole house, get the attic, basement, and kids room too.
Home depot also sells a do it yourself mold test kit, follow instructions.
E mail the city building dept about who has to do what, what the code says,,be prepared to go it yourself.Addtl info below on drs who do exc work with patients with mold aggravated illnesses

tort law and toxic mold law is in its infancy and vary from state to state. some Docs still argue no such thing as toxic mold. foolish considering the evidence ofcourse. (sorry just seen sherlock holmes). regardless of state a rentor must provide a safe living space for the rentee. notify your landlord in writing of your concerns and his obligations and save a copy. if no action find a lawyer and he can help. landlords will not realize its their responsibilty only until after a lawyer is involved
