Mold help! What should I do?

nascarnut asked:

I was at clients house today & I think they have mold. There were some bad odors and black splotches on the drywall. How much does it cost to have it removed & how is it done?

Ashley is correct, bleach water and scrub it…however…it also depends on if the mold has gone into the wall, into the studs, etc. Not sure about the cost to have it removed, but depending on the extent of it and type of it, it could be worth it. Mold is dangerous – people have actually died from exposure to it. Professional removers wear masks, have special cleaners and equipment, etc. Good luck! (:

what is the point of cleaning mould????????? you need to find out the reason why it is growing and eliminate that first otherwise it will only grow back. the main reason for mould growing inside houses is because people use the air conditioners and dont air out the room enough. (this happens a lot in the summer months) find the cause of the mould growing and rectify that before trying to get rid of the mould.

You can clean it with a mixture of four parts water to one part bleach. Spray it on and scrub it off. If it is under a window, or near where moisture can get in, it is probably a leak and can be cleaned, if it is a bigger problem then you should have the studs checked to see if it seeped through.

Bleach and water, let it dry thoroughly, then paint it with a moisture/waterproof paint so that it prevents future mold problems like an One part Epoxy coatings.

    Good luck!
