Mould and Damp in the house?

I am currently in a rented house. When we moved in the landlord didn’t mention that it had some damp (it looks like cream coloured mould that is powdery) but now it has started showing through the paintwork. I am a little concerned as it is getting bigger and it is on the middle (surrounding the main light switch) of a support wall so I am baffled as to where it has come from.
Since then have also noticed some black mould starting to show through on a wall by my living room window. I am concerned as you hear horror stories about toxic mould in peoples houses and I am asthmatic.

Is this something my landlord should get sorted and could it be detrimental to my health?

Yes, mold spreads by spores, and this could make your ashtma worse.

Breathing mold causes health problems to people with lung problems.

Mold can cause serious breathing sickness like pneuoma etc…

Mold growth is serious enough that you need to disclose it to future buyers.
