It normally has about 6- 8 inches of water in it, but it’s just moist at the bottom now and about an inch of black slim covered highly gasy smelling mold has covered the bottom of the tank…any healthy sure proof suggestions on how to get rid of it?

    Black Mold

1-clean the filter (spray with a mild household cleaner and run hot water through it)

2- flush it out with your water hose, to make sure its still working

3- if it is still working, put vinegar and salt in it (1 cup vinegar, 1 tablespoon table salt) leave for 10 minutes, then flush it again

4- replace the filter with a new one

do not breath in the mold, cover your mouth and nose! rubber gloves wouldn’t hurt either!

Wear a mask, goggles and gloves when doing any mold removal, if the mold is toxic it can cause very serious health issues.
