Can your landlord actually tell you to clean up black mold on your own? well we are not 100% positive it is black mold but it look like the images of black mold we have brought up on the net. I told him about it and he told me to clean it up myself, said testing was to expensive… what can I do? I don’t want to clean it up myself. I have kids 3 in my house under the age of two who are often sick. I can’t wait any longer to get it out of my house. Advice Please!!!!! Thankyou!!
yes, I believe my kids being sick is the mold. I dont want to move, I want it gone. What can I do and who could I call for help. Is it really safe to clean it up yourself?

I tore out a foot of the drywall and there wasn’t much more than an inch of mold on the drywall. I bought a special mold killer certified by the EPA to clean up the mold. The problem I have run into is that the point the mold started was on the other side of the wall and I believe it traveled under the wood beam that goes across the floor from the wall. I am concerned that even if I clean up the other side of the wall with the mold killer and replace the drywall I tore out that the mold is still underneath the footer beam of the wall and I am afraid it will come back. Do I need to tear out the ENTIRE wall to fix this problem? Or is there a way I can be certain the mold that might be under the wood is dead?
