Do you think it is mold? and if so, what kind is it most likely and is it toxic? I also saw ants walking near it. Any help would be great. Thanks

i just called and left a message with maintenance before i posted this , but im worried they will just paint over it. and i also heard bleach just kills the surface of black mold, not the source. what can i do to insure its gone?
i have a 4 month old baby.. it’s in her bedroom… lol.
i don’t want to sue him, i want it to be gone and not half assed so it grows back a month later. I’m not a sue happy freak like you might think, just a mother worried about the safety of her baby.

The whole apartment stinks!!! We have moved out of the area but are still paying rent there. All of the Maintenance people said that they can’t smell it but, we believe they are playing games with us. A 3rd Party Company came out and said it was “Not a Toxic Level” but, we have asthma and allergies and it really messes us up. I have washed all of the other stuff but, I am ready just to sell the couches and mattress and call it done. What do you think is the best solution at this point?? Are there any laws regarding this issue?? Is it worth getting a lawyer involved.
