What colors go with burgundy and black… in the decor way?
samantha asked:
For instance i have a burgundy and black bedding collection . . . what color would you recommend painting the walls and what other colors would mold well together? Carpet color? drapes? wood?

Dark taupe….Actually I wouldn’t do a whole room around those colors….chuck them and start new.
If you want it warm–go with the warm yellow to gold tones. That would make it pop. You can also use a dark green (think forest) and it would blend more. If you can get a picture of a color wheel it helps a lot. You want to find one that shows the primary, secondary and tertiary colors. Light colors will make it stand out while the darker ones will have it blend in. Good luck.
silver,gold,gray,white,a dark green….
I would do the walls in a light Wheat color, But I would make behind the bed I would make it a light Gold. Drapes I would do Burgundy with a gold design.and carpet if wall to wall I would go with sandy color, if it is scatter rugs then I would find a Burgundy with Black and Gold in it. I would put Dark Aqua and Gold pillows on the bed.
Believe it or not Bright orange or leopard turns out beautifully. It gives a regal look to the colors.
Paint: Home Depot -Behr’s Expedition Khaki. It looks like a rich gold (or golden tan), it goes great with rich browns, green and burgundy. I have it in my living room with thta color scheme: green-carpet, burgundy-furniture, and brown-fireplace and mantel.
Carpet: off white or wood floor, IDK.
For me, usually the paint is big deal that ties everything together.
Forest Green on the walls.
Deep Burgundy carpet.
I have seen this combo and it is great together.
I think a deep yellow gold color would look really great on the walls. Burgundy drapes and a neutral rug color.
A smokey Grey wall covering or paint, a lighter Grey on the floor and a nice patterned type for the curtains.
Gold would look all right with burgundy and black. My bedroom is painted in a maroon color but only half way up the wall then the rest is painted white. And I left one whole wall white and took a feather duster and JUST barely touched the ends into the maroon paint and swished it on the white wall- while listening to a “groovy” old song from my youth- It looks really awesome, my carpet is dark maroon. My curtains are a sheer eggplant color over a rose colored mini blind!
