I have some black mold on a basement wall. I sprayed it with some bleach water but I am not so sure it is gone. Any suggestions on how to ensure it will stay gone. Thanks to all of you who can help me out.

bleach will kill it. or they make an even better chlorine product that they sell at most paint stores, the name varies. anyhow after you put the bleach on to kill it you should put on a coat or two of kilz oil based primer. thats what i always do when i find balck mold behind old wall coverings. i am a painter and encounter black mold quite frequently.

1 cup of bleach ( Clorox ) to 1 gal water. Spray on the entire wall, not just the little spot. Leave on wall for an hour or two, then rinse. You may have to scrub to remove the stain. If you have moisture problems be sure to check the outside gutters and any sumps or drains to take water away from foundation of house. If it is still damp try a dehumidifier.

At Home Depot there is a product called slippery black that you spray on the mold. Let is sit then spray it off with water or scrub it off. This has been a very effective product for me.

you can kill it, but if you don’t stop the source of the water/humidity than once it gets wet again it will just start over.
