You should complain to the manager and show him/her the sandwich and ask for a refund.

I would bring the issue to the attention of the manager and request a refund and another meal.

If you don’t receive that, I would contact the corporate office with the lack of attention you received for food not fit to be served.

You should take it back to the store and ask to speak to the manager.
(First take a few photos of it to prove they were in the wrong.)

Calmly and politely tell him/her that you have found mold in your sandwich, and you find this unacceptable.
If they are any good at their job, they will offer you a refund or a replacement.

If they are rude – tell them that you have photographic evidence of their breach of health and safety regulations and are going to pursue the matter with his/her head office. Technically now they will be scared enough to offer you the replacement or refund.

If not… take your sandwich home again freeze it (just in case they ask for evidence), and write a letter to the store’s head office (you can find the address on the internet) and tell them about the mold, the name of the mean manager, and where and when exactly you purchased the item, add the photos that you took.

They will most likely send you some vouchers and an apology.
(Make sure you remember to throw out the old frozen moldy sandwich once this is all over!!)

Don’t be afraid of voicing your opinions… you have consumer rights for a reason!!

That is absolutely unacceptable. Complain (In a nice way, there is no reason to be rude) to the management and demand (again in a nice way) some form of retribution. Generally if you just tell the manager in a nice tone that you’re very upset and wouldn’t want to come back to that restaurant, they will offer you a meal on the house so they can try again and get it right. This will more often happen at chain restaurants where there is a policy to follow. If they don’t offer, you should tell them what you think is fair (half off the check, free dessert, etc.)

    The mold won’t kill you.
But you should have asked for a refund of your money and told them to throw out their old bread.
