Throw the dog food out and get some more. Would you like to eat a moldy sandwich? I think not…Who would? Mold! LOL

No it will not hurt him
Mold is just penicilin as just like humans we don’t like the taste but it won’t hurt us to eat.

Considering you don’t know whether or not it’s dangerous mold, I personally would throw the whole bag out.

    Ewwwww yuck!
    Personally I wouldn’t risk it.

Edited to add: Actually penicillin comes from Penicillium mold, not just any mold.

Not all mold is penicillian and unless you have a microscope and are microbiologist trained to know what types of molds do what then the best thing to do is throw out the old food and scrub down the container. Make sure the container is still functioning correctly because somehow moisture was able to get in and able to grow.

Throw it out. Yes, the genus Penicillium is a mold, but it is not the only one. There are some extremely toxic molds out there – such as Fusariums, that produce compounds with high mammalian toxicity.

NEVER let any animal eat moldy food!!!

Toss it all out scrub down the container with bleach and let it air dry before storing any more food in the bin. Mold can affect any dog of any age, go and buy a fresh bag.

Dear BTM8103…..A rule of thumb, would you eat a disgusting Hostess twinkee if you scraped off the mold? Never feed you pet anything like that. You may want to return the unused product to the place of purchase. Maybe buy some premium dog food that is preserved with ascorbic acid[vit. C and mixed tops, vit E] Good luck.

how long have you had the food?
did water get into the bin?
if the bin is sealed tight and no moisture can get into it i take it back where you got it from as most dry foods shouldnt go mouldy if in a airtight container.
if you have had the food a while or its got damp throw it away

    as they say
‘ if in doubt, throw it out’
