Take lots of pictures and scrape a sample of the mold into a sterile cup for study to ensure it is toxic. Call the Building officials and send written notice to landlord that they need to fix this immediately or you are going to movee due to health concerns. Give them 24 hours to fix and then get out of there. IT is bad for you and your daughter. Open the windows to increase ventilation if you can.

a; mold is a sticky situation; IF the mold can be 100% removed within
a few days, you cannot likely get reimbursed for a hotel but
maybe the LL will reimburse you.

b; if the mold remover people cannot remove it quickly, you have
a “constructive eviction” and you may move………and get your
unearned Feb rent back and your deposit.

TELL me why you accepted the apt with mold in it?

No, they do not have to.

That is what renter’s insurance is for…it would have paid for you a place to stay along with moving expenses.
